Mali said it and Burkina Faso, both neighbours of Niger run by military juntas, were sending delegations to Niger to show support. Both countries have said they would consider any intervention in Niger as a declaration of war against them.

Leaders of the bloc of West African states known as ECOWAS have agreed on a plan for military intervention in Niger unless coup leaders restore civilian rule by Sunday.
Foreign nationals lined up outside an airport in Niger's capital on Wednesday morning to wait for a French military evacuation flight, while a regional bloc continued talks about its response to the military coup that took place last week.
In a joint statement from the military governments of Mali and Burkina Faso, the two countries wrote that "any military intervention against Niger will be considered as a declaration of war against Burkina Faso and Mali.”
